Biography

Mahesh Annapure is a contemporary Indian visual artist based in Nanded, Maharashtra. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, his practice spans abstract, spiritual, religious, and landscape painting. His work explores the intersection of traditional Indian aesthetics — particularly the principles of Vastu Shastra and colour theory — with contemporary abstract expression. Over a decade-long career, Mahesh has exhibited extensively across India including solo shows at Pradarshak Art Gallery (Mumbai), Leela Hotel (Mumbai), CAP Art (Aurangabad), and Maharashtra Kendra (Delhi), as well as group exhibitions at Delhi Art Fair and Chitrashante (Bangalore). His work is held in private collections across India, the United States, and Europe, and in the permanent collection of the Maharashtra Cultural Centre. He is the recipient of the Maharashtra State Art Award (2023) and an Emerging Artist Fellowship from the India Art Foundation (2021).
